Rodaro Sauvignon DOP Friuli Colli Orientali 2022

Rodaro Sauvignon DOP Friuli Colli Orientali 2022 is a dry Italian white wine from Friuli Venezia Giulia, produced by Rodaro Paolo Winery in Cividale del Friuli. Made from 100% Sauvignon, it is aromatic, elegant and mineral, with citrus freshness, herbal notes, elderflower, basil, sage, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, peach, Mirabelle plum and a refined vegetal character. 
 
This Sauvignon comes from the Friuli Colli Orientali area, one of the respected wine zones of north-eastern Italy. The grapes come from estate-owned vineyards in the Cividale del Friuli area, and the wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for 36 months on its own yeasts, giving it aromatic intensity, freshness, balance and depth.
 
Tasting Profile:
Rodaro Sauvignon shows a straw-yellow colour of medium intensity with greenish reflections, giving an impression of brightness and vitality. On the nose, it opens with citrus freshness and aromatic herbs, including sage, rosemary, thyme and marjoram, followed by lemon verbena, basil and elderflower. On the palate, it is elegant and vertical, with mineral freshness, peach, Mirabelle plum, pepper-like vegetal notes and very good length.
 
Food Pairing:
This Sauvignon is especially suited to highly aromatic and spiced dishes. It is a strong choice for Mediterranean cuisine, Asian-inspired dishes, herb-based recipes, seafood, white meats, wine bars, restaurants and private clients looking for a premium Italian white wine in Malta.
